About T'Arah, LMT, CD(DONA)
Hi! I'm T'Arah Craig, LMT, CD(DONA) and I can't wait to support you on your birth journey! I am a mother to two beautiful, free-spirited children. I am a queer woman and trauma survivor and believe in providing gender-affirming, trauma-informed, anti-racist, body positive care in every environment I enter. As a birth doula, I accompany people in labor to help ensure a safe and satisfying birth experience. I have completed my doula training and certification with DONA International and have had experience with over 400+ births as a birth doula in hospitals, birth centers, and home births. It has been 11 years since I attended my first birth as a doula, and every experience since then has been a gift. I am also a massage therapist specializing in therapeutic bodywork for pregnancy, birth, and beyond.
Why I Became a Doula
I chose to become a doula because I knew that the best way for me to help the individuals of the world is through evidenced-based information and an instinctual knowledge of comfort, care, and strength. I believe that all life givers have a power within them to create a positive environment for their children beginning from the moment they enter the womb and continuing for the rest of their lives.I began my birth journey from a young age as the oldest of 7 children and 14 grandchildren. Being there during the amazing birth experiences of the life givers in my family and of my friends inspired an innate need to nurture and care for an individual and their partner during one of their most life changing milestones.

My Doula Philosophy
I truly believe that we have an inherent and instinctual knowledge of our bodies. For many people this can mean, 'My body knows how to birth this baby.' I believe in this phrase in the truest sense of the words, which is why I am there to support you through any way your body was made to birth: Vaginally, Unmedicated, Cesarean, through Surrogacy. Your body is smart, let's regain that power and knowledge together.
Continued Education
My continued birth education includes Spinning Babies, Lactation Education, Birth Without Fear, and 'When Survivors Give Birth'. I believe everyone has the right to their own birth and I aim to be a support for that experience.
